LAX flight delayed three hours because of WiFi hotspot name 'Al-Quida Free Terror Nettwork'

Source: KABC-TV

An American Airlines flight from Los Angeles International Airport to London was delayed Sunday after concerns over the name of a WiFi hotspot.

A passenger saw the WiFi connection, named "Al-Quida Free Terror Nettwork," and expressed concern to a flight attendant.

Flight 136 was taken back to the gate and delayed until 1 p.m. Monday, American Airlines officials said.

Passengers were reportedly not allowed to leave the plane for about three hours. Travelers said they were initially told that it was some sort of maintenance issue.

OK. Here's a quiz. So you're on a plane that's just about to take off, happy because you're on time. Nye Bevan Oct 2014 #6

Oh noes that al queda group o' crazies has set up a free wifi hot spot right next to my flight. I know it's real cause they misspelled nettwork.

For ages I had my router named "We are not the NSA in the van out front" and two neighbors actually discussed whether or not it was serious.

Our neighborhood is getting wifi crowded, I had to switch off to a different router channel, the one I was on was getting a lot of interference from other networks. I also notice two or three nearby appear to be unprotected.

You're surfing on your phone, and you see a WiFi hotspot named after Al-Qaeda.

Do you:

(a) Panic, summon a flight attendant, and cause the plane to be delayed for hours, or

(b) Roll your eyes, don't say anything, and enjoy your on-time flight?

I would probably cunningly throw people off the scent by naming my hotspot something like Moms_Apple_Pie.
