Most of you know that I am a teeny-tiny bit interested in Get Out The Vote activism. But for quite some time, I could not persuade my wife to vote. She was raised to see it as a waste of time, nothing ever changes, her vote didn't matter, you know the line.
Things in Ohio have gotten so bad for women, children, minorities and the poor, she has not only cast her first ballot ever, but is working hard to GOTV herself.
To say I am proud of her would be a massive understatement. To say that I àm happy, even more so.
GOTV, friends! GOTV.

(26,620 posts)My husband, a registered Republican, always voted, but the last time he voted GOP was 2000, and he regretted it. Hell, he even regrets not voting for Carter. By 2000, we had been married 13 years, and I was ready to give up on him. W managed to do what I couldn't do, made my husband a GOP hater and a blue voter. He keeps his Republican registration because he's sure it messes with GOP heads.
