Early vote update: North Carolina Democrats are banking a lot of votes
.There has been a lot of of per-state analysis over the past few weeks, including McDonald's own assessments and a good overview from our Reid Wilson. The trends, though, are clear from the graph above: dips in the percentage of early votes from Republicans in several states and increases in the vote from Democrats and those who don't identify a party.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-apps/imrs.php?src= ![]() That said, here's how the data looks. As of the the Election Project's latest update, 11.6 million Americans have voted. Where the numbers are broken down by party (or, in the case of Georgia, race) we plotted them against registration. The smaller dots on the line show past data updates. Some states were added later than others, or weren't updated as regularly. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2014/10/29/early-vote-update-north-carolina-democrats-are-banking-a-lot-of-votes/

1. This is good to hear. I had planned to vote on Weds, when I was off, but if I don't get it done....
tomorrow, I'll be standing in line on Tuesday with all the other slackers.

2. and it's amazing, given the illegal suppression of the college vote--my daughter almost gave up
since it wasn't on her campus, but we're driving her back to the other side of the Triangle to vote in her home precinct on Tuesday, which is a privilege many of these other students don't have.
A survey a few days ago said that 1/3 of NC State students planned on voting Tuesday at the Talley Student Campus Center (as they had done in the past), except they didn't know that the GOP had ELIMINATED THE ON CAMPUS SITE, AS THEY HAVE ALL OVER THE NORTH CAROLINA EXCEPT AT APPALACHIAN, where the students managed to successfully challenge it in the courts. At Duke voting was at 85% when the site was on campus next to the Chapel. Now that the site is forced off campus, the students are having more difficulty figuring out how to vote and many are giving up. Before on-campus sites the voting rate was 25%, no doubt the goal of our treasonous friends in the state GOP. |
