How The Southern Baptists Are Still Completely Failing Transgender People

Back in June, the SBC approved a resolution “On Transgender Identity,” which declared that “gender identity is determined by biological sex and not by one’s self-perception,” describing transgender and intersex identities as manifestations of “human fallenness.” The resolution also expressed opposition to any form of physical gender transition, as well as any governmental or cultural validations of transgender identities."

*Insisting that the Bible dictates everything that a person needs to follow, Burk dismissed all of the research that shows that gender is fixed and that there are mental health consequences for denying a person’s gender identity. "

Brynn Tannehill, a transgender activist and Director of Advocacy for the transgender military organization SPART*A, took personal exception to Burk’s claims. She pointed out to ThinkProgress that there is an increasing amount of research that demonstrates that transgender identities have a biological origin."

Personally I believe it takes outstanding courage to live as yourself, and I admire that courage.

Southern Baptists are not about helping people, even their own. They are about dictating to their flocks how to live and where to give their money - to Southern Baptist preachers, of course.

I say this as a descendant of a LOT of Southern Baptists preachers. I've read their histories and know them for the self serving assholes they were.

If it has anything to do with science, they are wrong 100% of the time.

That should come as no surprise to anyone. The SBC thinks the Bible is a science book. The SBC is a collective moron.

Yes, under the heading of "BECAUSE SCIENCE SAYS", we are so into science lately...

Parthenogenesis by an XX mother can only produce females.

Without the contribution of a y-containing sperm, Jesus could only have inherited X chromosomes from her mother.

That leaves Jesus as a genetic female, but the presentation given in religious legends is of a male.

Reconciliation of the legendary Jesus with science requires one or more of the following to be negated

1) Jesus really never was
2) Jesus real was but was not born of a virgin
3) Jesus was real and born of a virgin, but was genetically XX,yet passed as an XY

Oh...forget it...miracles, but but but miracles CAN'T be reconciled with science.

Broad chest (shield chest) and widely spaced nipples
Low hairline
Low-set ears

Small fingernails
Characteristic facial features
Webbed neck from cystic hygroma in infancy
Aortic valve stenosis
Coarctation of the aorta

High waist-to-hip ratio (the hips are not much bigger than the waist, which might have contributed to the notion of passing as male)
