Man, I'm going to miss you - and you and your brother were so intertwined - my heart goes out to you.
I wish there was a candle smilie.

They had a very informative show and they obviously enjoyed
what they were doing. I tuned in whenever I could. RIP Tom.

(344 posts)What place "Car Talk" had on NPR.
But I always enjoyed their bantering and advice, and the Puzzle.

(18,124 posts)that show regularly. I loved all their comedy while giving very good advice on car maintenance. I learned some important lessons from them. Hopefully if there is rest in death, his is in peace.

(5,141 posts)I've been listening to them forever, like most of you. I was depressed when I heard they were retiring and now Tommy is gone.
RIP Tommy. And thank you for laughing when I said my rear-end was humming.

...don't drive like my brother...
I wonder if he's going to be buried with his Dodge Dart?
I was cut up beyond reason when I read this:"' In a statement announcing his brothers death, Ray wrote, turns out he wasnt kidding. He really couldnt remember last weeks puzzler.'"

(24,324 posts)Wow, that is just too beautiful...too too beautiful..
THAT just got me - more than when I heard about Tawmee.
Such a simultaneity of laughter and sadness..
That is so human..
Thanks...

(9,825 posts)At least I think it was Wyoming. Will have to check that. What a lot of great memories and happy Saturday mornings listening to Tommy & Ray yuck it up on NPR.
May you rest in peace, Tommy, in a land where Dodge Darts are right up there with Lamborghinis!

I'll always remember their wit. "Sure take that trip and drive your car but getting there might be a
problem."
Long may you run.

(20,453 posts)I think I understand why they stopped. I thought it was NPR being too cheap, but perhaps Tommy was going through Alzheimers (complications? That's more rare with that disease, generally, people live quite a while with it).
They were a treasure together.
