(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - More than 200 people have been killed in southern Yemen by US assassination drone raids, Yemeni air strikes and army troops over the past seven days.
Yemeni officials said that over 180 militants were among those killed.
On Monday, local officials said at least six militants were killed in a Yemeni airstrike in the southern Shabwa province. However, the militants say only three of their members were killed in the attack, which, they say, was carried out by a US assassination drone.
On Sunday, at least three children were killed on their way to school when a roadside bomb targeted a Yemeni security patrol.

With over 200 people slaughtered, how many were innocent civilians and people suspected of terrorism?
Does it matter who was killed or who was killed as a result of "collateral damage"?

The roots of this oppression and even its further intensification may be sought in the ignorance of Shiite Muslims about each other and unawareness of global communities of such oppressions against Shiites. A large portion of mass media and communication tools is in the hands of rulers and arrogant powers who are fighting in the opposing front against pure Mohammedan Islam.
In the Islamic Republic of Iran, too, despite existence of many news agencies, newspapers and websites, there was always a tangible necessity for a specialized news agency to work specifically for broadcasting the news of Shiah world and followers of Ahlulbayt worldwide.
Authorities of the Ahlulbayt World Assembly during the tenure of present Secretary General Hujjatul-Islam Mohammad Hasan Akhtari well recognized the sensitivity of the condition. To fill the gap, they embarked on launching a three-language electronic news agency, which was then gradually and logically developed. By the grace of Almighty Allah and blessings of holy Ahlulbayt (as), it is now turned into an active seven-language news agency with competent editorial staff in Iran and some other countries.

Three children died in a roadside bombing in southern Yemen on Sunday, the defence ministry said, the latest reported bloodshed in an intensifying battle in the region between government loyalist forces and al-Qaeda.
As many as 200 people have died in the past week as the administration of Abdu Rabu Mansur Hadi, the new president has tried to dislodge Islamist militants from territory they seized during the near year-long uprising against Ali Abdullah Saleh, the former leader.
<snip>
At least 11 al-Qaeda linked militants were killed in fighting and an air strike in the southern region on Saturday, according to the ministry, part of a government offensive that Yemeni officials say has killed 200 people in the past week.
It was unclear what role, if any, the US military was playing in the assault on Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a group that western intelligence agencies say has been behind some of the biggest international terror plots of the past few years. The US has previously pursued a contentious policy of assassinations of al-Qaeda suspects in Yemen.
