home health nurse? My daughter had medical problems requiring home nurse visits and they are about to come to an end. Is it permissible to give her a home made thank you gift? I was thinking a crocheted hat/scarf set. Thanks in advance.

(14,834 posts)She had 2 or 3 health care workers during the last couple of years before she died (7 yrs ago).
She gave them things from her house that they admired... a wind chime, a sun-catcher, even a hummingbird feeder. So sweet.
I think what you have in mind would also be very sweet (Can I assume hand-made?).

(22,165 posts)I was a visiting nurse (for a hospice) in my first career. While it would be inappropriate to accept gifts with "high monetary value" ... a handmade gift (often viewed as priceless) would be perfect and probably very appreciated!
I was always deeply touched when someone would take the time to do something like that for me!

I wish I'd been able to contact all the people who cared for my mother. They all deserved medals along with gifts.
