This is a worse drubbing for Democrats than 2010.

And I hate to pile on ... but Democrats ran defensive campaigns.

You cannot win with just a 'ground game' and no message for the future.

Here in Colorado, it looks like we are going to lose the governorship, too.
We bucked the tide in 2010, but not this time apparently.

I never heard Democrats talk about the 5.9% unemployment rate, the 17,000 Dow, the deficit cut in half, etc.

If for no other reason than the losses in 2010 had a large impact on redistricting at the state levels.

It's obviously a bad night for us, but that's the dilemma of a two party system. If somebody is pissed at us, they really only have Republicans to vote for, even if the Republican is batshit crazy.

... that if the Republicans 'nationalize' the midterm elections, then Democrats must respond in-kind.

Not challenging a 'nationalized' strategy is like conceding the battlefield to the 'crazy'.

I agree with what some one posted elsewhere -- bring back Howard Dean's fifty state strategy.

And ... Democrats must stop playing this middle of the road game.
It is time for populist, progressive, hard-fighting Democrats for 2016.

..... and people are still struggling, that number, along with the Dow at 17,000 doesn't mean a lot to most people.
