The biggest winners yesterday: the phony "liberals" & the phony "Democrats"

The people that cry crocodile tears about how "liberal" they are, and are thoroughly offended when their phoniness is exposed....

But then they turn around and say Obama is a terrorist, that Kerry is a war criminal, that Hillary is in the pocket of Wall Street, they sing the praises of Elizabeth Warren, who was a dedicated Republican voter well into her 40s, admire RW libertarian nutcases like Rand Paul and nihilistic, narcissistic bomb throwers Glenn Greenwald & Ed Snowden, try to convince people that of the RW talking point that "both parties are the same", and then generally spend their time disparaging real liberal Democrats and the Democratic Party in general...

These people that claim that not voting for Democrats and having a Republican Congress who will kill any liberal or progressive policy on every issue, who will roll back every progressive advance that has been made since FDR, and who will impeach any sitting Democratic President for any reason, will somehow bring about The Glorious New Liberal Tomorrow! - because this strategy was worked so well in the past, hasn't it? (And of course, they're unable to articulate just how that is going to work.)

It's real simple: To have a more liberal govt, Democrats must be in control. And for Democratic candidates to win, Democratic voters must vote for them. Any attempt to claim otherwise just helps the the other guys.

But then, I remember that spittle-flecked hatefest you posted a few days back against the left a few days ago, so it's not surprising.

You prepped the ground to blame the left before the election, and sure enough, here you are, blaming them for the screwups of "Real Democrats".

At least you're consistent in your hate for anyone to the left of your RW vision of what the party should be.

Quit throwing the left away in race after race, choosing candidates who can't be bothered to even pretend to care about the left, and you'll win more votes there.

Morning Joe pointedly tried, for an entire segment, to make her mention "Obama" or "the President." She steadfastly refused so to do. We lost because the average voter couldn't be motivated by the "not as bad as the other guy", and lack of a clear distinction between the two parties.

Democratic candidates used to stand up for unions, women, minorities, social security, and a bunch of other things. Now most of them give lukewarm support and get little or no support from the clowns at the national level.

Until relatively recently, it's had to be. There are so many more of the 99% than there are of the ruling class.

It works well, too. Apparently, the primitive part of the brain has some need to perceive the self as superior to others, as well as to be damned angry about it, too!

Sadly, the hoi polloi embrace it as their own, failing to perceive how manipulative and utterly self-defeating it is.

1) get DEMOCRATS elected (doesn't MATTER how not-liberal they may actually be..)
2) get BETTER Democrats elected (meaning like, actual LIBERALS and whatnot..)

That only the FIRST part of that idea was ever implemented should tell you a lot about the people it got elected to office (perhaps, it worked TOO well lol). Now, in their defense, the maxim of good POLITICS is (to paraphrase)

Politics is the art of delaying an action until it is no longer relevant (see controversial or dangerous),

and my take on it is that that's exactly what happened with both Marriage Equality AND Healthcare Reform. By the time the pols at the National Level decided "hey, things are things we can maybe kinda work on fixing", consent for doing SOMETHING had already reached at least 50%. It was done because mostly, it had become NOT HARD for them to do.

Which I understand.

But as far as I'm PERSONALLY concerned, Public Policy ain't beanbag, and If you're pulling down the kind of cash we're paying peeps to hold Senate Seats, By God I want those motherfuckers doing what's HARD, not whats easy. Because EASY should require a fucking PAY CUT.
