The Republican strategy for winning the mid-term election.

It was simple. Put Barack Obama on the ballot in every race. And it worked perfectly.

"So-and-so" voted with Obama 97% of the time".
"...or 96% of the time".
"...or 99% of the time".

"Barack Obama is on the ballot".
Even the President said that his "policies were on every ballot".

But some Democrats did not want to run with Obama, after all his favorable ratings were about 25-30% in some states. They tried to tell the voters that Obama was not on the ballot. It failed miserably. Democrats were out-smarted by this strategy.

Republicans had nothing else to run on. It was all about Obama. They worked for years to tear down this President, from IRS, Benghazi, Syria, ISIS, Ebola, etc. They said he was incompetent. By the time of the election, the template had already been laid.

They figure out what message will work with the brain-washed populace, and then they stick to it.

We don't do that. We don't march in lockstep.

*sigh*

The election should have been about them but they put the Democrats on the defensive and they stayed there.

They were the party in opposition, mostly. They are supposed to stand for their policies and undermine the President.

The Democrats failed to mobilize their constituencies, GOTV, articulate a coherent message, run hard everywhere and tout their achievements. You have unemployment cut in half, a healthy 3.5% growth rate, few Americans dying in wars, a declining deficit, falling gas prices, near energy independence and millions added to the health care rolls.

Democrats are so incompetent they lose badly with this?

that he wasn't on the ballot but his policies were...'make no mistake'.

I'm not sure how helpful that turned out to be.

president obama successes helped keep our base turn out low. i would bet a pretty penny that the turn out for this election cycle will be really low compared to other ones.

hell maybe dems were too successful and our supporters were feeling all nice and comfortable and didn't see a need to get out and vote.
