When he made the 2/3 that didn't vote comment I wondered if he was trying to make the point that Democrats lost control of the Senate, but 2/3 of the electorate did not vote so it was not that big of a deal.

It was as if he was "teasing" blaming 2/3 of Americans for not voting..and happy that he NOW has a Repub House & Senate that he thinks he can finally work with and he's going to "make it clear" there will be issues where HE feels he will have an input to do his Presidential Powers to intervene.

He said they will do an new AUMF Agreement to deal with ISIS which will be separate from the "Iraq AUMF" agreement and that "That Deal" could go off into when the "New Congress" comes in. He said he's called a full meeting with "All Parties" for this week to get together to "work out a plan" about how "this could work."

He said about Iran & the Nuclear Deal....lots of military speak about "we will work with them as a good partner and "military action" isn't in the forecast right now because we are working with them. What I ASK is WHO THE HELL put "Military Action" to "Deal with Iran" On The Table in the First Place!

He then rambled on about having a bourbon or golf game with Repub House & Senate Leaders as a joke answer to reporter...

The rest was focused on "American Exceptionalism" in "the World" and how "Good" he feels about America helping countries across the world and what "good people we are" to be involved in efforts to help people.

He blathered on and on about "American Exceptionalism at the end of the speech but never addressed WHY DID WE DEMS LOSE.

It's pretty much "ALL ABOUT HIM," and that he "Can Work with the Republicans on "these issues" that are "Important to the American People."

That was my view........

Sorry for typo's and punctuation...I "WORK FROM HOME" and I have a project I had to get out....so took that break to watch it..so was rushing what I viewed. The VIDEO is out there so watch it and see what YOU THINK.

I'm so glad that you and others are still there to fight the good fight. I'm not weepy or enraged last night or today, just feeling very heavy in my heart.

Based on comments here, I may listen to President Obama's speech online later. I wish I could write the guy a letter, if that makes sense.

Obama is only talking about areas of “overlap,” not acquiescence. This is not a man who sounds repudiated in the least…

“Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran cast vicariously
as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate.
This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi,
now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation
stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin
vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition!
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain,
for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose,
so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me "V".”
― Alan Moore, V for Vendetta

I disagree with some of his policies but whenever I listen to him he comes across as a methodical and deliberative thinker and my respect for him increases.

For me, it's the media and the rest of Washington that's the main problem.
