BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Police in Beaver County have charged a man accused of shooting two dogs in the head and leaving them to die in Brady’s Run Park.

Steven Cable Jr. is facing charges of animal cruelty and reckless endangerment.

Brighton Township Police say some public works employees found the bodies of the two older Labrador Retrievers, one black and the other yellow, near a park shelter on Nov. 3. Each dog was still wearing a collar when they were found.
According to the criminal complaint, the owner of the two dogs told investigators he had paid Cable $100 last month to humanely put the dogs down.

Anyone who can shoot a dog should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I know about the "case" you are referring to.

I am ashamed that it happened in western PA. They showed that creep flashing the money on local tv.

Sounds like a cold guy.

What is the correct way to put down two dogs? I doubt a lot of the country would find a problem with shooting dogs in the head to put them down. Old Yeller comes to mind.

Not sure animal cruelty will stick here. this is not exactly the city where this happened. Looks like pretty far out in boondock country looking at the map.

How can people be so heartless ? I would risk my life for my dogs. And why would a dog owner pay somebody off the street $100.0 to kill dogs humanely. If your dog is in pain and need to be put down, the veterinarian is the place to do it, not some random dude.

I think they should also charge the down owner. His story does not make sense.
