Creighton Prep football coach Nizzi resigns after he is cited on suspicion of misdemeanor assault

There is a school in Ohio that should have fired the entire staff. CP did the right thing!

Chris Nizzi, who resigned over the weekend as Omaha Creighton Prep’s football coach, has been cited on suspicion of misdemeanor assault after allegedly striking a girl who was with his 16-year-old-son.

Police were called about 4 a.m. Saturday to Nizzi’s house in the 1000 block of Sunset Trail, said Kevin Wiese, a spokesman for the Omaha Police Department.

Police were called to Chris Nizzi’s house early Saturday and made the initial report an investigation of misdemeanor assault.

According to the police report, Jessica Preister, 17, told police she was in her car with Andrew Nizzi, 16, in a parking lot across the street from his house about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when Andrew’s father, Chris, arrived home.

The Creighton Prep coach walked across the street to her car and confronted her about hanging out with his son, she said. He asked her what her name was, and when she answered, the girl said the coach struck her on the right side of her face with what she believed to be a closed fist, the report said. Officers observed redness and slight swelling on the right side of her face.

I mentioned in a post Friday I would be at an athletic event. I was at the Omaha North game. North will be in it's third straight class A final. Maybe the pressure of facing a team that kicked his teams ass once already this season got to him?
