My predictions for furgeson

If wilson is acquitted I predict absolutely nothin will happen in terms of violence. If he is not acquitted there will be a small amount of violence equivalent to what happens when a city's team wins a championship and middle age and youth get too excited for their own good...break some windows and smash cars and start a few fires ing the street.

There will be many hours of coverage live in the streets where all the action is not happening.

that there will be a very small number of people who will behave unwisely, but the vast majority of protestors will continue to protest peacefully, despite horrible treatment by law enforcement, as has been the case so far. No one in Ferguson is expecting Wilson to face charges. If they thought there would be justice, they wouldn't be protesting.

I also predict that the only thing we will see on TV will be the small number of people who are behaving unwisely, and we will see police overreaction but it will be called "response to rioting."

No one in the media or law enforcement seems to be bracing for that possibility.

And a grand jury doesn't acquit; it merely indicts or does not indict; that is, it does or does not determine there was probable cause that a crime was committed. Trial juries, not grand juries, acquit. We are waiting for an indictment or no indictment, not an acquittal.

Along with all the other misinformation, and flame fanning, this lack of understanding of the judicial process is very troubling. It's like most people--especially the young--don't have any understanding of civics or how our system works. This whole charade appears to be more of a media creation fueled by the irresponsible actions of the Governor and other officials, when you throw in ignorance of the actual proceedings on a tinder box. what else is left to precipitate something ugly and unnecessary.
If Officer Wilson is not indicted by this grand jury, you can almost bet the feds will step in with a civil rights violation charge. If he is, and found not guilty, that's a whole other concern.

But,I don't expect there to be any problems either way from the RESIDENTS of this city. I'm sure the paid provocateurs will be around to do their mischief and their local counterparts will play their part. But it's winter.....
