I had a ridiculously hard time in middle school and the first half of school - I'll admit this shit should not be tolerated anywhere, but when I was growing up - at least bullies had their limits. I can't imagine what it's like growing up now with the social media revolution - now bullying knows no boundaries. I really hope every student in America sees this - we live in a culture that encourages bullying - look at Fox News. I hope this at least changes something about our culture.

When I was a kid and any kind of bullying erupted, parents and teachers intervened. Now, it's like it's every kid for himself.

and frankly cried during parts of it. Alex, the kid who likes learning, is particularly hard to watch in some scenes. It was a scene on his bus which originally got the film rated r.

It looked gut-wrenching.

What were reactions of other people in the audience?

Very powerful messages in there! I only wish they'd focused on the issue of hierarchies and/or cliques contributing to the bullying problem in schools (i.e., "If you're not popular, you're dead meat!&quot .
