Darren Wilson resigns from Ferguson Police Department

Citing security fears, Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, who fatally shot Michael Brown Aug. 9, has resigned from the police department.

Wilson, 28, who on Monday was cleared by a grand jury investigating the shooting, had been a member of the city's police department for six years.

In a brief telephone interview, Wilson said he resigned after the police department told him it had received threats of violence if he remained an employee.

"I'm resigning of my own free will," he said. "I'm not willing to let someone else get hurt because of me."

He said resigning was "the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Guilty by being the wrong color? Guilty by popular opinion? Or is this just a Democrat thing? The grand jury found him innocent, the evidence supports his story. The only crime I see are those that have made up their mind that Wilson is guilty regardless of the evidence and the jury's decision.

Your posts are bullshit.

White racists don't recognize black people as humans. So the fact that Wilson won't even mention Brown, is a good indication that is how he feels about him. You have to wonder how many Klansman are part of those local PD forces. IMO, that is why we hear Wilson say he would do it over and over again and not change anything. Admitting that he would never use his ASP or mace...IOW he would kill Brown as many times as it takes.

Oh and people here are right, DI is a huge cesspool. However you can learn a lot about fucked up people like skinheads by following their links and reading about their racist mindset. It is amazing how delusional these people are and it is also why they are dangerous to society at large.

Anyway, I was picturing rabid pit bulls and Wilson, but that's pretty macabre.

Some form of lasting mental torment would be more commensurate with his deeds.

So while losing a job is horrible, no rational person would say it is worse than killing a child in cold blood. Rational people. Wilson OTOH is depressed now because he has to move and lost his job...I bet he doesn't even think about the kid he killed.

I personally hope he wakes up in hell tomorrow.

I saw the Daily Mail was reporting it was around 1 million, but that's the Daily Mail and they're a lying rag. I know he got mid-to-high six-figure payment from ABC for his interview, though. I imagine between the donations and the payment for his interview, plus future appearances and whatever book deals he swings, he's richer than he'd ever expected to be in his life.

How's that for f'd up, he killed a kid two days before the kid could start tech school and work toward a future, and he's the one who ends up banking from the kids death.

In a nation where it's not uncommon for a person to have to work two (or more) jobs to keep food on the table and the basic needs of their family met, a man who kills an unarmed kid gets a million dollars for his deed.

The bias, prejudice and hate in this country is seriously out of control. I used to have an idealistic attitude that we'd learn and grow. It's died a slow and painful death since 2000.

How about the fact that he took someone's life? Or that he experiences psychotic delusions in which he transforms into a 5 year old boy fighting demons and cartoon characters while on duty?

Brown's killer should have been fired, but instead they let him resign on his own free will while citing an excuse that only serves to demonize and further alienate the community they're supposed to be protecting.
