and whenever we went out anywhere (which was frequently, being young and single) they'd make me (very caucasian) drive. If it was my car, I'd drive, if it was one of their cars, they'd make me drive. It was kind of a running joke to me that we laughed about, but we never got pulled over once. Its absolutely ridiculous that that is actually the safest way to avoid problems with the police in this country.
