Hint: there are inconsistiencies between what they say and the video shows.
What Tim Wise has to say about it (from Facebook): "These cops -- like most all cops involved in shootings -- are liars. These, thankfully, can be proven as such because the video makes it clear (as with the killing of John Crawford at Walmart). Anyone who doesn't support the indictment and conviction of these murderers is simply a racist whose hatred of black males leads them to justify anything done by police to black people. Any cop who defends this shooting should be fired as well. They are not competent to serve. Time to clean house in department after department across America. I'm talking mass purges of racist cops and the creation of democratically elected boards in communities to have control over who will and will not police in their neighborhoods."

(27,275 posts)for a new emoticon i've seen a few "he did not comply" posts, but even they have to admit it is hard to comply in 1.5 seconds. and the cops lied. they claimed there was a group of people at the table, but the video tell a different story. they also claimed they issued 3 warnings, and the video proves that unlikely also.

Police officers are just as likely to lie as anyone else.

Sorry, not busting your chops, it's just that every time I think I cannot get any more cynical, I am proven wrong.

(24,319 posts)for having a valid opinion.
This seems like even worse judgment than in the Brown case. He was a 12-year-old on a playground and they had to start shooting right away? They will probably weasel themselves into a thought it was a real gun defense, but if cops were given the correct amount of scrutiny, that excuse wouldn't work well. I think we need to stop holding cops to such a high standard of guilt.

(27,275 posts)The tape proves their statement is false. But cops get away with this all the time. If anyone is still confused about the terms white privilege and institutional racism...
