My mom's nurse called yesterday. She would not be able to come to the house because she injured her ribs and was in pain.
Today, she called again. She's still not able to work because she thinks she cracked a couple of ribs in a fall.
She can't go to a doctor because she has no insurance herself, so she's trying to tough it out with pain medications on her own...
Did I mention this was Texas?
Probably can go without saying.
Sigh.

If she quit work she could get medicaid, but pRick likes torturing the working poor.

(4,516 posts)4. You would be surprised how many nurses don't have insurance
I am retired now, but I once worked for a hospital whose specialty was kidney disease. I usually did 4-6 transplants a day.
Transplants were NOT covered by their insurance plan.
