"The only thing as vicious as rape is falsely accusing someone of rape." --Jameis Winston

This week, Florida State University quarterback Jameis Winston had his student conduct hearing over accusations he raped a female student. Controversially, local prosecutors declined to charge Winston with a crime at this time of the year in 2013 due to lack of evidence.

Of course, Winston gave a statement saying that his actions were consensual (because y'know, easy girls always lie about being raped). But this is the most ridiculous, woe-is-me, "I'm really the victim" part:

"Rape is a vicious crime," he said. "The only thing as vicious as rape is falsely accusing someone of rape. (The accuser) and her lawyers have falsely accused me, threatened to sue me, demanded $7,000,000 from me, engaged in a destructive media campaign against me, and manipulated this process to the point that my rights have and will continue to be severely compromised. (The accuser's) and her lawyers' public campaign to vilify me guarantees that her false allegations will follow me for the rest of my life."

I guess playing football must have f**ked this guy's brain over so much that he lacks moral perspective. "The only thing as vicious as rape is falsely accusing someone of rape"? Is this man stupid, or am I ignorant of something?

Anyway, I hope Georgia Tech gives this guy a concussion this Saturday. Of all the QB's to have won Heisman or national championship he has to be the biggest scumbag of 'em all.

You cannot expect folks on a discussion board to read whats written. That's far too much to ask. I applaud the minority to actually read it.

I was in a thread earlier where over a quarter of the folks posting read absolutely nothing beyond the subject line. It was quite embarrassing for them. The OP and the responses were in no way related. So much egg on face.

In order to earn the title "fucking douchebag".

Being a rapist apparently fails to qualify. Yet I have seen George W Bush referred to on DU, many times, in exactly the same words and nobody said jack shit. And as bad as he was I don't think he raped anybody and then whined about being the victim.

Then the rules changed and now you get a forced vacation if you get unlucky enough. So the stakes went up for "scalp hunting" and the scalp hunters are out alerting on anything that can possibly be alerted on. And why not? You get to knock people off the board! What fun!

Apropos of nothing there was a recent bunch of threads about why DU views are down down down.

Or heck, getting a second shot at fame through a film career when you were not only accused of rape, but found guilty and served time for rape, a la Mike Tyson.

I hope Winston's career in football crashes and burns, and may he never achieve what he wants.

Winston is still a bloody fucking moron for reading that and not thinking to himself "this sounds stupid". Of course he's the same idiot who stole crab legs, jumped up on a table to yell something stupid (which he lied about when he was disciplined over it) and when he was benched for a game, came out onto the field wearing his uniform and pads before the coach sent him to take the pads off. So he's clearly a complete dumbass who desperately needs to grow the fuck up.

1) No, it really isn't. Being accused of rape falsely does suck, but I would think actually BEING raped is quite a bit worse.

2) I doubt you would know in either case Jameis, because in my opinion you are guilty as sin. You are the poster child for pampered athletes who never grow up. I will smile broadly the day you go to prison, and yes, I am quite certain that you WILL end up there. You're too stupid to stop trying to get away with things you shouldn't.

False accusations get much more coverage in the news. Limbaugh types call women sluts for merely using contraceptives. They love spreading this kind of story.

a false accusation being worse than rape in any way at all if you had been raped.

Anyway, Jameis was not referrring to a false accusation being as vicious as rape for women in general or society in general. He was saying that being falsely accused is as vicious to the falsely accused male as rape is to a female rape victim. And that, while terrible, is not even close to be raped.

Makes it easier when there's a false accusation. because chances are, nobody gives a shit, they're going to tear apart the "victim" ( all victims- real or imaginary - are whores who were asking for it ), everybody's gonna say what a great guy he is and nothing will happen.

Not good for actual rape victims, but it's rare a man goes to prison for rape, even if he is a serial rapist.

53% of rape cases in the military involve enlisted men as victims. How often are these false allegations?
