UPDATED: Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime in Bevo Neighborhood

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louis police are investigating an alleged hate crime in the Bevo neighborhood early this morning that left a 26-year-old woman beaten.

According to a police report, at about 5:30 a.m., a Bosnian woman was driving on the 4600 block of Lansdowne when three black males in their late-teens to early-20s stepped in front of her vehicle.

When the woman tried to drive around them, the suspects reportedly pulled out a firearm, so she stopped the car.

After hitting her windshield with a crowbar, the suspects pulled the woman from her car, threw her on the ground and kicked her.

Why would 3 black men be hanging out at 5am on a Sunday morning and what American walks around with a crowbar these days?

Its just a theory but its possible these so-called victims are lying to drum up hatred or in the case of Zemir Begic it could have been a targeted hit that might have been orchestrated by people within this so-called Bosnian community.

When it comes to racial or homophobic attacks the first place to look is at the person making the claim especially if there is no video.

If the police arent looking at this possibility then they are grossly incompetent. I'm just not going to take these people at their word especially since these particular events are being pushed by racist right wing blogs just like the Ashley Todd story before it was revealed to "B" a hoax.

These stories tend to pop up, cluster and spread on right wing racist sites like drudge report, stormfront, breitbart, infowars, zerohedge, various tea party social media pages, etc to bolster hate and racism and as usual their racist readers blindly believe the stories without asking questions about the circumstances.

Todd claimed that she was robbed at knifepoint by a "six-foot-four African American of medium build, dressed in dark clothes wearing shiny shoes" at a Citizens Bank ATM in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. She also alleged that after the robber saw a McCain bumper sticker on Todd's car, he assaulted her, cut a reversed letter B into her cheek, and told her "you are going to be a Barack supporter."

On October 25, 1994, Smith reported to police that she had been carjacked by a black man who drove away with her sons still in the car. For nine days, she made dramatic pleas on national television for the rescue and return of them. However, following an intensive investigation and a nationwide search, on November 3, 1994, she confessed to letting her 1990 Mazda Protegé roll into nearby John D. Long Lake, drowning them inside. Her motivation was reportedly to be able to have a relationship with a local wealthy man, even though the latter had no intention of forming a family.

In 1989, Charles Stuart was serving as the general manager for Edward F. Kakas & Sons, furriers on Newbury Street. Stuart's wife, Carol (née DiMaiti, born March 26, 1959, in Boston), was a tax attorney, and pregnant with the couple's first child.[1] On October 23, the couple were driving through the Roxbury neighborhood after attending childbirth classes at Brigham and Women's Hospital. According to Stuart's subsequent statement, a black gunman with a raspy voice forced his way into their car at a stoplight, ordered them to drive to nearby Mission Hill, robbed them, then shot Charles in the stomach and Carol in the head. Stuart then drove away, despite his injuries, and called 911 on his car phone.

Carol Stuart died just hours after the shooting, at approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 24.[2] Her funeral took place four days later at St. James Church in her native Medford.Shortly before her death, doctors delivered her baby by caesarean section, two months premature. Baptized in the intensive care unit, the child was given the name Christopher, according to Charles and Carol's prior wishes. Christopher had suffered trauma and oxygen deprivation during the shooting, and died seventeen days later. A private funeral service was held for Christopher on November 20, 1989.
Investigation

Boston Police searched for suspects based on Stuart's description of the assailant. Though investigating officers asked doctors whether Stuart's wounds could have been self-inflicted, they were told[who?] that this was very unlikely, given the severity of the injuries. Police found a young man, Willie Bennett, who fit Stuart's description. On December 28, Stuart identified Bennett as his attacker in a lineup.

The case against Bennett abruptly collapsed on January 3, 1990, when Charles Stuart's brother Matthew identified Charles as Carol's killer. Matthew admitted that he had driven to meet Stuart that night to help him commit what he had been told was to be an insurance fraud. Upon arrival, Matthew said that he had seen that Carol had been shot, and that his brother had shot himself to make it appear as a carjacking. Matthew took the gun and a bag of valuables, including the couple's wedding rings, and threw them off the Pines River Bridge in Revere. Some of the items, including the gun, were later recovered.
