I don't like the cromnibus, so I'd love to hear from you as to what you would do?

(62,270 posts)It's complaining for the sake of complaining, whining for no rational reason whatsoever. I explain why it's stupid to be "upset" about it here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=5946424

(62,270 posts)But to act as if Obama has committed yet another ultimate and evil betrayal by supporting it is silliness. It doesn't change anything substantively.

It does not guarantee a future bailout.
And if there was a future bailout the section they got changed would have been quickly legislated away. As it was here. On a rider. On an omnibus continuation bill. It's a little win for Citibank, it's not anything worth freaking out about.
Understand how the world works and stop being fed by every minute outrage.

(7,830 posts)I'm stunned. And obviously, I agree that you're wrong. Your words show you to be on the side of unregulated banks playing fast & loose with taxpayers money to back any losses, and risking crashing our economy again. You also have no problem with banking lobbyists writing legislation for "our elected reps."
Can you get more RW?
But its good to know the other side's POV.

You don't need to be insulting, though that tends to be the last refuge of scoundrels, insulting people because they have nothing else to add to the conversation.
If there was a need for a bailout, then the section preventing a bailout would be legislated away. It really is that simple. That's how the world works, you don't have to like it. This is much like that NSA defunding bill that passed. Let's people say certain things, but changes nothing.

(62,270 posts)That's clearly bad, why should investors be able to have breathing room while the working class musters along?
If anyone needs a bailout it's the working class who would be all to eager to build infrastructural back up in this country.
You put words in my mouth and insult me for no reason.

I just feel like a schmuck that at my age I got taken in back in 2008. I really thought it might be different this time. What a chump I was.

How this ever got attached to a budget bill is beyond me.

This should be called out and removed. Let the repugs do it
openly, when they come back in February.
