Just heard on the Ed Schultz Show:
"...and since that time (of a vote on the rule), unfortunately, we are getting our members who are targeted, and who are getting called, and who are getting lobbied from so many people, including the President of the United States. Who have decided, er, that he would like to have this bill no matter what. But it's wrong..." - Rep. Maxine Waters

Torturers are patriots, and Wall Street needs more help to loot the country.

(6,145 posts)Boehner has already said he would use omnibus spending bills to force Republican priorities. By giving in to new demands does Obama think Republicans will be more co-operative next time?
He can't can he? Does he agree with them more than he's letting on? We all know from experience that enabling their demands means they'll be even more extreme in the next extortion attempt.
And BTW where was all the back room arm twisting when we needed to whip just one vote for a public option?

(17,244 posts)We should be e-mailing them not to support it, so that they know the public is not for this and will hold them accountable. Disgusting that we have to fight a Democratic administration on this.

(36,437 posts)Kill the omnibus spending bill. It's awful provisions need to be stopped dead, even if that means a shut down.
Fucking Wall Street giveaway that puts our whole future in peril. NO. Enough. Kill this bill.

(10,499 posts)yet?
Where are the Obama defenders now? He has done some great things socially (things Wall Street doesn't give a shit about), but he and most other Democratic politicians are OWNED by Wall Street!!!!
I don't want to hear about the Democrats congenitally defective spines, or that Democrats are afraid of Republicans, bull shit! They are the Washington Generals to the Republican's Harlem Globetrotters. We keep voting for them like an abused spouse believing the promises that they "...will do better, just give us another chance!"
It's time to back Bernie Sanders and fight with him for Publicly Funded Elections! Let's recruit Elizabeth Warren to run with him and mobilize like a MF! If not, I hope you lose your job to the TPP because that is next. There is two years to get this going so we have to build a coalition of groups that are not being heard on their issues due to the corporate money: environmentalist, those fighting for public education, prosecuting torturers, justice for victims of police brutality... We can do this if we are tired of repeating the same thing and expecting a different result!
