Since I have been voting...I have seen Reagan

and the gutting of the mental health system.

I have seen the Bush's and their endless wars and gifts to their crony's through these wars.

I have seen Clinton institute NAFTA and kill our jobs.

And under Obama, I have seen a resurgence of the 1960's. Young black men slaughtered in the streets by the people hired to protect and serve, more cronyism that is giving our tax dollars to the very wealthy and literally taking food out of young children's mouths to do this, and women's rights being rolled back.

I have seen FEDERAL LAWS designed to protect fragile classes overlooked and subverted in the states houses with no federal intervention.

Goddamnit--I want to see National Guard tanks pointed at the people who are denying the rights of those who are merely exercising their civil rights.

I want to see the DOJ intervene when people's federally protecting voting rights are being infringed upon.

I don't give a rat's ass about Obama's legacy. We are in the here and now and it isn't good. We give forever for their wish lists and we get 6 months before we have to fight these battles again and give up more and more and more.

I know I am not alone. If we can't protect our basic rights then voting isn't the answer. Of course it is all we have but it is just stupid. We need change. REAL change. Not platitudes. Not elected officials that have been sold to the highest bidder.
