Almost 30 years later, victims are still traumatized by Mark Wahlberg's crimes

EXCLUSIVE: 'Kill the n*****! Kill the n*****!' Teacher reveals how Mark Wahlberg and 'thug' friends chased, taunted and hurled rocks at her fourth-graders - but she'll accept the pardon for an apology

Mary Belmonte tells MailOnline how a class outing to play in the sand turned into a nightmare for her mostly African-Americans students
Two of the little girls in her care - one black and one white - were hit in the head by a barrage of stones
Kristyn Atwood, one of the girls, does not think it is fair that Wahlberg should get his conviction overturned
MailOnline has discovered that one of the trio - Michael Guilfoyle - is now a senior Boston firefighter
Mary would like a face-to-face apology from the man who was once a racist street tough

For fourth-grade teacher Mary Deshaies, it was the scariest thing she had ever faced. As she walked her class back from an outing to the beach a gang of thugs suddenly attacked them shouting racial slurs and hurling rocks.

Two of the little girls in her care - one black and one white - were hit in the head by the barrage of stones. Others panicked and ran as she tried to protect them. One of the boys attempted to defend her. 'Don't you hurt my teacher,' he yelled at the assailants.

Now, nearly 30 years later Mary Belmonte, as she is now known, is having to relive the incident. For one of those louts was a teenage Mark Wahlberg and now he is begging for an official pardon for his actions on the mean streets of Boston's Southside.

once was that their jobs were SO secure, they couldn't fire you short of killing someone.

I guess for some unionized jobs, even THAT isn't enough.

Apologies are the very least we should expect from someone seeking a pardon for racist attacks.

But this case is different than what you portray. In this case Mr. Wallberg wants the system to forgive him. He is asking for forgiveness from the system and not his victims.

Seriously?

as he is now claiming that happened in vietnam and that marky mark should get a pardon.

what disgusts me about this whole thing is he is claiming he can be an example to other kids who have been in trouble before.

but there ARE kids who did much less than him but who have been punished worse yet he is doing nothing about that.

it's all about HIM.

FUCK HIM . if he gets a pardon i will be disgusted.

Last I heard, Wahlberg said that restitution would be the right thing to do, but that he had no plans to do that and that he no longer feels any guilt. This was in a 2006 interview for "The Departed."

opinion mattered about it at all. There were many victims, several events and they are all deserving of a voice. It's just wrong to claim he did not throw rocks at school kids for racist reasons when he did.

and there was nothing special about him until he lucked into a showbiz career. He served a whopping 45 days in jail. He did the crimes, he did the time.

However, I can't understand why he's looking for a pardon. It's not like his past as a rotten teenager is working against him in Hollywood.

I'd rather let the conviction stand. That way it's always a reminder that even the rottenest teenager out there can eventually redeem himself with equal amounts of luck and hard work.

He can better redeem himself by speaking out to the current crop of rotten teenagers who were brought up to be bigots. That's the kind of thing that can earn him a pardon.

ETA: Irony time: Wahlberg was discovered by a black man who shaped his early career and now he's asking a black man for a pardon.
