Stacey Dash: Kids Living In Homes Receiving Aid Are The ‘Democratic Party’s New Version Of Slavery’

During a Fox News discussion regarding the high incidence of American families with children receiving government aid, an Outnumbered co-host called the children of those families the “Democratic party’s new version of slavery.” Host Harris Faulkner noted that a recent Census Bureau report states that 65 percent of American children live in households receiving government support in the form of food stamps, Medicaid, and the national school lunch program, in video captured by Media Matters.

Turning to co-host and former Clueless actress Stacey Dash, Faulkner said, “Stacey, I know you have some strong thoughts on this.” Dash immediately called it “slavery” before listing off a seemingly random laundry list of unrelated topics.

“This is the Democratic party’s new version of slavery to me,” she stated. “I am a believer in the American dream. But as long as you are told where you have to live, what you have to eat, what you have to wear, where you have to go to school, you will never know the true meaning of expression. And, the power and value of self achievement. You’ll never know what that is.”

Saying she was playing “devil’s advocate,” a seemingly confused Faulkner asked Dash, “What would you say to somebody who would argue that those so many of these children might be needing these programs and so you would be leaving them behind if you didn’t shore them up.” “You educate them, ” Dash simply stated. “You support them and you give them a certain amount of time, you don’t just keep giving it to them.”

companies to pay a living wage so they don't have to see their tax dollars going to supporting profits for Wal-Mart.

The folks at Fox are confused about who is getting "government assistance". It's not the people who can't afford to eat, it's the companies that want to pay $280 a week in the 21st century..

Pay the kids' parents fairly and adequately, and they won't need the assistance, you fucking imbeciles. I am so sick of these nasty, self-righteous assholes.

and teach her what slavery means.

Republicans always pull out the "slavery" canard whenever they want to criticize a program that helps kids grow up, helps poor folks put food on the table when a Republican boss won't pay them enough, and so the elderly won't die of neglect because they can't go to a doctor.

They are incapable of seeing that slavery was the buying and selling of other people's bodies to use in unpaid labor, a system that seems all too logical to Republicans who mistakenly think they could never be bought or sold.

Some days, all I want to do is go out and slap Republicans and yell "WAKE UP, STUPID!" so I guess this will be one of those days I just stay home.

So then what do you do Clueless? Let people be put out on the street to starve?

And many of these people are working, sadly the corporations do not want to pay anywhere near a decent wage or provide health care - even though they have billions in profit.......... yes Walmart I am talking about you.

by letting them starve and freeze. No messy concentration camps to draw unwanted attention. And the bonus upshot is that you can blame the victims for their own deaths. Win-win for the New Fascists.

On the other hand, mass incarceration of people for petty charges, and then using them as cheap/free prison labor for the State...that might be termed "slavery".

Hmmm...isn't the GOP behind mass incarceration...

Time to file a lawsuit to shut them down.

They are not news. They are a propaganda machine pretending to be news.

The Florida judge is an idiot for allowing them to lie.

Now we need to get it overturned and shut them down.
