Man with high-powered rifles and ‘tank buster’ bullets arrested for posting liberal ‘hit list’This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by azurnoir (a host of the General Discussion forum). http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/02/man-with-high-powered-rifles-and-tank-buster-bullets-arrested-for-posting-liberal-hit-list/ Police in Clarkstown, New York have confiscated a cache of high-powered weapons and body armor from a man who was arrested for posting death threats against against many Democratic politicians and every liberal supporter of President Barack Obama. According to WCBS, 49-year-old Larry Mulqueen was arraigned on Thursday on charges of “making terroristic threats, illegally possessing weapons and harassment.”
Mulqueen’s landlady had tipped off police after she found a “hit list” posted on Facebook that threatened Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) and all members of the Congressional Black Caucus. The Facebook posting said that all of the president’s follower were “traitor scum” and promised “death to them all.” Nyack-Piermont Patch reported that police searched Mulqueen’s home and found two high-powered rifles, two bayonets, a sword, a knuckle knife, body armor and ammunition. Included in the 100 rounds of ammunition were 27 so-called “tank buster” .50 caliber armor-piercing shells. Previous criminal convictions meant that it was illegal for Mulqueen to possess the weapons.

4. Is there any way for Faux News to blame this on the police protestors? I am
sure their are hundreds of Fox lie factory production workers slaving away in their fact manufacturing centres working on that very thing.

12. I'm tired of the blame being put in the wrong place.
Clearly, the blame lies with de Blasio and Al Sharpton. Oh, and everyone on his list.

5. WTF are "tank buster" rounds
First the guy belongs in jail, since he was a convicted felon, add on 15-20 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
As for “tank buster” .50 caliber armor-piercing shells, that's a bunch of crap, the .50 caliber API (armor piercing incendiary) has been around since WWII and won't penetrate a tank or even most armored personal carriers. Yet again, reporting done more to get everybody worked up then to be factually accurate. |

10. The 50. caliber round is not a "tank buster"
nor will it penetrate the armor of most infantry fighting vehicles or armored personal carriers. Additionally the .50 Caliber API round is considered surplus ammo and is available and has been available for decades from some suppliers if you are willing to to pay the $3 to $4 PER cartridge.
In other words the reporter wasn't interested in factual reporting, but reporting using loaded words designed to get an emotional reaction out of people, primarily fear. If you consider that ethical reporting, then we certainly aren't going to disagree. |

21. If this was the rifle the police recovered , it's no joke
It won't take out a tank but a person who makes threats shouldn't have this in his hands

where the perpetrator has already plead guilty nearly 20 months ago.

is an outrage?

18. "reporting done more to get everybody worked up"
Must be following the NRA in factual reporting to get people all worked up....See American Rifleman's reporting on Obama's secret 10 point plan to take away your guns. No one tells more lies than the NRA's gun rights supporters.
just to be fair and accurate. |

26. Okay ...
who wants to argue that the guy isn't racially motivated?
“I think what may have particularly have gotten his ire in the past month or two were the various legislation enacted with respect to the rights to possess a firearm. I think that was particularly upsetting to him,” Cummings added. “One posting which was posted about a month ago said that if anybody ever came to take the arms, they would suffer the consequences.”
Okay, Mr. Mulqueen ... they came and took your weapons ... your move! |

I wholeheartedly concur.
Altogether too much shit like this in the world. The problem is... There is one major political party in the USA which seems to thrive on such things. And they just achieved power in congress. Thankfully, President Obama has a veto pen. Heaven help us all if they gain the White House. My best regards. |
