I dont know what I can personally do outside of what I am doing.
I have participated in a major protest march in Seattle, "I Cant Breathe" protest.
I wish I could do more, any suggestions for people who dont live in big cities, are welcome.
But what I am seeing is "this aint going away", whether it is the police chief in Pittsburgh looking to do the right thing, or protest marches all over the country.
This must not stop, it must continue and grow, and why cant it grow into an overall "occupy" type thing where all injustice is addressed?
Maybe not right away, maybe the cops vs Black folk deserves it's own special section of the protest world (no maybe about it really), but I see potential for real growth here.
This can be the start of something, finally.

(53,339 posts)Especially after blaming unarmed victims of cops here and referring to the President as '"Barry" in another thread. He wasn't even trying to be subtle.
Congratulations on your milestone!

(3,580 posts)I live in a very rural area and work in a city. We don't have a town in my county. It's mostly run by boards. I'm looking at one of the boards to get on when a position opens. Also they do have meetings that are open to the public so attend some of them to figure out who is running your county. Where I live the tea bags have been storming the county boards. From there they run for elected office.
I agree this is not over. I think we have to have a multi pronged approach to change including protest. I am so impressed with some of these young people leading these protests. They are our next leaders.

In their defense, you can't say that the current incarnation of feudal lords and their vassals aren't doing everything in their power to help the peasants find out their Douglass limit, and reach that Kafkaesque point!
