Police Chief Who ‘Accidentally’ Shot His Wife Twice Had Been Divorced By Her, and Caught Cheating

Police Chief William McCollom’s wife, who was shot and critically injured in a pre-dawn New Year’s Day shooting has now been revealed to have divorced him 15 years ago.

It would seem impossible to believe that this was an accident: the hour when the shooting occurred, along with the fact that he fired not once but twice. But in spite of the preposterous nature of such a claim, this is exactly what Chief McCollom is maintaining. In spite of the fact that all evidence points to an intentional shooting, McCollom has not been arrested.

Sherry Lang, a spokeswoman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, told local WXIA-TV said that while initial reports were that the chief’s wife had been shot twice, she was only hit with one of those two shots from her husband’s 9mm pistol.

But Chief William McCollom was originally divorced and estranged from his wife, something which adds to speculation that this shooting was anything but accidental. The circumstances of the couple’s divorce are sketchy, but Chief McCollom went on to marry a woman in 2002 who was his police department’s chaplain in Delray Beach, Florida.

Random black guy walks down the street unarmed and gets shot dead by the cops.

Could it be any more glaring........ even to a Kentucky white woman....

As much as I dislike Glocks I have to credit their internal design-

The “Safe Action” system is a partly tensioned firing pin lock, which is moved further back by the trigger bar when the trigger is pulled.
When the trigger is pulled, 3 safety features are automatically deactivated one after another. When doing so, the trigger bar is deflected downward by the connector and the firing pin is released under full load. When the trigger is released, all three safety features re-engage and the GLOCK pistol is automatically secured again.

translation-until the trigger is pulled, there is not enough tension on the firing pin spring to fire a round AND there is a piece of metal physically between the firing pin and the round.

I believe the trigger is a poor design and too easily pulled negligently but it will not "go off" once, let alone twice, without the trigger being pulled.

.... would be IN JAIL right now trying to get bond together.

When you shoot someone, the presupposition in the real world of normal people is NOT that is was an accident.

She is in critical condition. What court on God's Green Earth lets this guy go free and spend his time, with possible ill feelings of finishing the job, to be even near the victim?
