Phil Bryant, Mississippi Governor: Democrats' 'One Mission In Life Is To Abort Children'

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant (R), in defending his decision to sign a bill that could shut down Mississippi's only abortion clinic, told conservative radio host Tony Perkins on Tuesday that Democrats' "one mission in life is to abort children."

"Even if you believe in abortion, the hypocrisy of the left that now tried to kill this bill, that says that I should have never signed it, the true hypocrisy is that their one mission in life is to abort children, is to kill children in the womb," he said. "It doesn't really matter, they don't care if the mother's life is in jeopardy, that if something goes wrong that a doctor can't admit them to a local hospital, that he's not even board certified."

"We passed that bill and I think you'll see other states follow, and when that happens, at least these fly-in abortionists are going to be regulated under the state laws of the Medical Procedures Act here in the state of Mississippi as they should be across the nation," he said.

The bill in question, HB 1390, requires that all physicians who perform abortions in Mississippi have admitting privileges at the local hospital and be board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: The so-called "Pro-lifers" are the ones who are actually pro-abortion. Back alley abortions where women die.

They steadfastly stand in the way of any effort to reduce the rate of abort through education, health care and contraception. If the rate of abortion fell by these means, the pro-abortionist, Right Wing fetus worshippers would have a fit.

Woman and children hating is their bread and butter, never mind the fact that they're scared of any woman having a good time. With them, it's all about outrage. They need it, like you and I need air to breathe. Common sense and compassionate approaches to reducing the rate of abortion to just the need for emergency intervention even is a non-starter for these fools. And even if it just was for emergency intervention of WANTED pregnancies, they'd rather let the woman DIE.

You're quite right, they're not "Pro-Life" at all… They're Anti-Woman, Anti-Freedom, Anti-Compassion and Anti-Common Sense.

It's obvious that they want to prevent all abortions, even for rape, incest and for the life of the mother. Women will be carrying unwanted children to term, because they won't have access to abortifacients in the early weeks of pregnancy. But, here's else what's going to happen:

There's going to be a rise in preventable deaths of both poor and working class women and WANTED fetuses, because of the woeful lack of health care in the poorest state in the union. If these women have already had children when they die, the surviving children, a lot of them, will find their way into an already overburdened foster care system. Others will strain surviving families that take them in. A lot of them a just going to fall through the cracks. Many will end up in prison.

Next, you're going to see both a rise in births to single parent households, those households again are going to be poor and middle class. The lack of adequate social safety net programs in an already poor state will be stretched and strained beyond belief.

Women will have to drop out of school to have unwanted children. Since education and the freedom to determine when women want to have children and are financially and emotionally have to have them... These are the best ways prevent a cycle of poverty, that postponement will only perpetuate the cycle.

Families with unwanted children are going to show a marked increase of financial strain. You're going to see higher rates of divorce and abuse. This, in turn, will put additional strain on civil and family courts and law enforcement. Many fathers will be unable to provide adequate child support, further increasing the level of poverty for the state's children of the underclass.

More children are going to strain what are already the worst public schools in the nation. There will be higher rates of drop outs. Kids are going to be unprepared to join the workforce. This will affect the economy of the state.

Younger and younger kids are going to have children of their own, especially since there will be inadequate sex education (abstinance only) and a lack of access to contraceptive care.

You're going to see higher rates of crime and poverty. Rates of violent crime will rise dramatically as a new, larger generation of unwanted, undereducated, impoverished young people are walking around, without any recourse other than to fend for themselves.

Prisons bursting, schools failing, budgets breaking, fear and crime and higher levels of abuse and poverty. And that's just the beginning. You can extrapolate from there a lot of other horrible implications for society.

Sounds great, doesn't it?

So that's what states like Mississippi and others, that are going out of their way to restrict women's health services, have to look forward to.

I'm going to have to start putting in some time on weekends. I aborted maybe three this morning before work, two on my lunch hour, and I was all wore out by the time I got home.

I used to squeeze in about 15 a day in my spare time, but the abortion attachment on my Oreck canister vac cracked the other day, so sometimes I gotta use my modified bicycle pump and do it manually.

I did not get that memo. I'm afraid so many of my other life missions have gotten in the way of what I am supposed to be doing - ABORTING CHILDREN! Well, gee. I'll get right on it. Not quite sure how to manage it though. Should I stand on the corner with my crochet hooks and maybe a tastefully drawn sign?

Every day.
Even on people that don't want them.
Especially on people that don't want them. Aborting pregnancies is truly the main purpose of my life.
Because I am a Democrat.

Wow.
