(53,410 posts)He looks pretty happy to meet them. I'm sure he's happy with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
It's a photo for the history books.

(24,324 posts)I, maybe like many of you, grew up in the 60's with Bob Dylan. BUT, I never saw him in person....until last summer when he came here for a big outdoor concert. . I was paying whatever it took for this one ! :> )
I was close. about 10th row or so.
I was actually a little in tears when he walked out...Couldn't believe he was there, an actual living, breathing Bob.
What this man has done is just...well.. very, very rare.

(23,616 posts)I turned around right before he went on and he was standing about 2 feet away from me. I smiled, he winced and I almost threw up..lol. It was surreal being that close to him, and I don't get star struck too often.

(2,852 posts)He went real early to be in line. We didn't end up getting there until almost time for the concert to start. (Had a long drive.) Also glad I got to see him with the Greatful Dead in Oakland.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_%28song%29
Carter and a man named John Artis had been charged with a triple murder during a robbery at the Lafayette Grill in Paterson, New Jersey in 1966. Carter and Artis were found guilty of the murders, which were widely reported as racially motivated. In the years that followed, a substantial amount of controversy emerged over the case, ranging from allegations of faulty evidence and questionable eyewitness testimony to an unfair trial. In his autobiography, Carter maintained his innocence, and his story eventually led Dylan to visit him in Rahway State Prison in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey.[2]

(3,626 posts)it makes me imagine a conversation between Dylan, Jesse Jackson, and Ozzie. They're all nearly incomprehensible to me. But Dylan -- what a wonder he is.

He has always had great things to say about President Obama so I think the admiration between the two is probably otherworldly.
