Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) weighed in on the vaccination debate Tuesday.
"I don't know that we need another law, but I do believe all children ought to be vaccinated," he told reporters.
Despite an absence of scientific evidence, some Republican presidential hopefuls including Gov. Chris Christie (NJ) and Sen. Rand Paul (KY) have given some credence to the notion of a link between vaccines and autism.

(23,296 posts)Hell, in another week, we could know where every friggin' repug in Congress stands on vaccines. It seems they are trying to establish a talking point, but can't. The opinions so far are really nuanced. I didn't think conservatives did 'nuance'.

(25,261 posts)their Party would be labeled the anti-vac Party. They're doing this because they have to in order to save their Party. IMHO

(60,536 posts)there was a frantic GOP conference call urging everyone to come out in support of vaccinations. I think that evaluation is correct. Early this a.m. it was just the usual GOP stumblebums mumbling not to get vaccinated then, very suddenly, Boehner, McConnell, Jindal, Rubio, Graham, etc. were being quoted as in favor of it. I think that view is correct.
By my analysis, the only one that hasn't opened up about vaccinations is the Klondike Kardashian.

One of America's biggest problems is allowing the craziest members of each base to steer the debate.
