Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) attempted to do damage control after first suggesting that vaccinations should be voluntary and then citing cases where he said children who took vaccines ended up "with profound mental disorders after vaccines."

Paul, accompanied by New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters, went to get a vaccine shot on Tuesday, a booster shot for Hepatitis A.

Ironic: Today I am getting my booster vaccine. Wonder how the liberal media will misreport this?

Paul also released a new statement on Tuesday saying he never said that there was a direct connection between vaccines and mental disorders.

"I did not say vaccines caused disorders, just that they were temporally related —I did not allege causation," Paul said according to NBC. "I support vaccines, I receive them myself and I had all of my children vaccinated.

Link says was, but I assume he quit when he went into politics and didnt want his warped views known.

For more than two decades, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul was a member of a group, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, that advocated a link between vaccinations and autism, among other conspiracy theories.

They also said it was evil to participate in Medicare and I believe that HIV and Aids had no correlation.

Something stupid like that.

Someone said today that the stupids, as I call them, or teaparty, dont elect someone who will reflect their idiotic beliefs, but they elect people who already hold their idiotic beliefs, like these listed here and racism and so on.

Traditional republican politicians are usually themselves not complete idiots but willing to adopt idiotic philosophies to get reelected.
