STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - The Detroit man who made international news over his difficult daily commute to work won't have to walk anymore.
James Robertson has been given a new car by Suburban Ford of Sterling Heights, Michigan. Robertson picked up the car, a red fully loaded 2015 Ford Taurus, on Friday.

When he picked up the car, Robertson said, "I don't like it, I love it!"
The story of how the 56-year-old Robertson walks 21 miles every day to get to and from work was first reported by the Detroit Free Press . Since then, it has appeared on both national and international news outlets.
It has also led to more than $310,000 in donations to a GoFundMe site for Robertson that was set up by a Wayne State University student.

I went around and around with this dbag who didn't want to pay gift taxes. For a gift to secure a mortgage we need a gift letter. Not for the IRS but to show the underwriter the money isn't a loan. He didn't want to put the word "gift" anywhere in writing. He just wanted to wire the money to the closing.
