Huskers switch Omaha radio affiliate from 1110 KFAB to 590 KXSP

Omaha radio broadcasts of Nebraska athletics will have a new home starting this summer.

IMG, the multimedia partner of the University of Nebraska, has entered into a five-year radio partnership with Journal Broadcast Group, moving all Husker radio broadcasts to 590 AM KXSP starting July 1. Stations 105.9 FM KKCD and 92.3 FM KEZO will also feature Nebraska content under the new agreement.

IMG has previously been a longtime partner with 1110 AM KFAB. The two signed a five-year contract extension in July 2010. That contract expires on June 30.

Snip: In 2010, KFAB General Manager Taylor Walet told The World-Herald that “the University of Nebraska and KFAB have a longstanding relationship dating back to the 1920s. This is more than a business deal for us. The Huskers are part of the family.”
