Bush lied, thousands died, Obama lied, wedding licenses denied...big difference

just sayin

I should have thought this through a little better.

I was just reacting to the rightwingers who love to call Obama a liar.

Michelangelo Signorile on Sirius made me think of it when he mentioned W and his lies vs this lie.

If I could delete the whole thread I would.

sorry

1. Delayed (for some), not denied

People were getting married in Massachusetts, Iowa, and other states during this time between the inauguration and the eventual rescinding of DoMA and the court decrees.

I know, because my nephew was married then.

2. I don't think people are making comparisons; personally, I just wonder what else he said,

in order to get elected, that was not what he intended or believed.
Also, if he did indeed lie about his feelings on gay marriage, it is a bit distasteful to me that he evidently invented a story about his daughters influencing him, the evolving, and all that.

3. People were getting married in this country while Obama opposed it.

While it is wonderful to have a President who now supports equality in that aspect, others fought to the point it was happening even to his dismay. What Bush has to do with it is beyond me. Maybe we can all just jump behind drug testing for social service recipients. Hey, at least people wouldn't be dying in the numbers dealt at Bushs hands.

calling Obama a liar.

But if I can change it now I will, I dont want any disrespect, how would I do that?

I was listening to Michelangelo Signorile and agreeing with him that most in the gay community and gay activist supporters like myself knew he was lying and we knew why he had to, etc.

I am also rethinking my response.

As a straight person, I am offended by this OP (not just for LGBT community, but for myself).

Thank you.

and wanted to get it out before I forgot..

And delayed vs denied is better too.

I think there is some importance to my point only in that Obama lied to eventually make it better, and people did suffer, no doubt

W lied and people died and W wanted those people to die, and he didnt care that Americans died too...

We need to remember that there are very bad criminals, murderers on the other side of the aisle, then and now.

10. Plus Obama's lie was needed to lay the groundwork politically for full legality.

At least I think that's the calculation that went into that.

S'okay, my father's gay. I know what you were trying to say.
