Republican Warmonger Busted Showing Fake Photos Of Ukraine War During Senate SpeechAUTHOR: RANDA MORRIS FEBRUARY 15, 2015 12:09 PM
During a speech given on the floor of the U.S. Senate, GOP Senator Jim Inhofe presented a series of fake photos, which he claimed show Russian troops advancing in the Ukraine. Inhofe used the fake photos as justification for his senate bill, which would authorize the U.S. to provide lethal military aid to the Ukraine.
Inhofe said:
To demonstrate his point, Inhofe claimed he brought back a group of photos from a trip to the Ukraine. He goes on to claim that the photos are evidence of Russian tanks in the Ukraine.
The photos Inhofe used are not what he claims. Two were taken in 2008, during Russias war with Georgia. The other, which was taken in October, shows Russian-backed separatists in the Luhansk town of Krasniy Luch.
Inhofe is the author of Senate Bill 452, which would authorize the U.S. to provide lethal military aid to the Ukraine. He introduced the bill on February 11, 2015, using the fake photos to illustrate why the United States must provide lethal weapons to the Ukraine.

These photographs were given to me by Lt. Col. Semen Semenchenko, the commander of Donbas Volunteer Assault Battalion and newly elected member of the parliament of Ukraine, during our meeting on 13 Nov last year.
The first set of pictures show Russian troops in T-72 tanks, BTR armored personnel carriers, and BMP infantry fighting vehicles entering eastern Ukraine, waiving Russian flags. This is not simply supporting separatists it is an invasion of the Ukraine by Russia.
The second set of pictures were taken by Ukrainian soldiers on the front line in eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials deny providing Inhofe with the photos. According to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL):
Those photos were taken during [the battle] for Ilovaisk, then after Ilovaisk events in Piskiy and Mariupol three places he told RFE/RLs Ukrainian Service. I never gave photos from 2008.
In his best attempt to impersonate war crazed Senator John McCain, Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma released photographic proof of Russian solders in Ukraine in order to push forward his bill to provide U.S. arms to Ukraine. Or so he thought

(81,518 posts)WHO IS IT back home who thinks this guy is just great, certainly senatorial material, he speaks for them, and they find his representation of them to be just okie-dokey because they keep on voting for him!!!
THEY are the real problem. I'm sorry to say that! There are wonderful people in Oklahoma. But it seems they are either few and far between - or else they just don't go out and vote in every election. That the voters find him acceptable, repeatedly, just leaves me scratching my head. I'd expect that anybody with half a brain would know enough not to keep rubber-stamping this guy.
He makes you look like SHIT, Oklahoma! You deserve BETTER!!!!!!!

Give Ukraine the weapons it needs for self-defense
By Carl Levin and James Inhofe October 19, 2014
Carl Levin, a Democrat, represents Michigan in the Senate, where he is chairman of the Armed Services Committee. James Inhofe, a Republican, represents Oklahoma in the Senate and is the ranking minority member on the committee.
When Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko spoke to a joint session of Congress last month, he thanked the United States for its assistance in confronting Russian aggression, and indeed, our country, along with our NATO allies, has done much. But Poroshenko asked us for more. Blankets, night-vision goggles are also important, he said, but one cannot win the war with blankets.
We believe now is the time to add defensive military aid, including weapons, to our support of Ukraine.
This is a cause worth supporting. The Ukrainian people face a heavily armed insurgent force equipped , trained and supported by Russia and, more recently, Russias own military forces, seeking to establish by force the political and economic dominance Vladimir Putin desires. This aggression undermines peace and stability not just for Ukraine but also in all of Europe, and it sets the wrong precedent for international relations. That is a threat to U.S. interests. As we saw with the tragic downing of a Malaysian jetliner reportedly by Russian-supported forces, the impact of Putins reckless aggression is global.
Its important to remember what sparked Russias intervention: the peaceful, democratic protests of the Ukrainian people that unseated a corrupt, Putin-friendly regime. Supporting Ukraines desire for peace, freedom, territorial integrity and democracy supports values Americans hold dear.
We and our NATO partners have taken significant steps to support Ukraine by providing more than $100 million in military assistance (including an additional $46 million of assistance announced during Poroshenkos visit), deployments to Eastern Europe and increased military cooperation. And most important, we and our European partners have imposed biting economic sanctions that have damaged the Russian economy, plunging it toward recession and signaling to Putin that he cannot benefit from European economic strength on one hand while endangering it on the other.
