Reality is still on "ignore"

In Denver yesterday, a couple thousand people rallied to protest the Republicans' very real war on women. The media, both print and broadcast, chose to ignore the event. Among those ignored, this family:

I dream of the day when liberal media bias is a reality. . .

works for today's protest at the Nuke Plant up the road where yes, a bunch of liberals, hell, even a socialist or two, might come together.

Not all the media is blind. But the ones who cover these events are small, indy presses, that work on shoe strings. If you find them locally, give them some cash... it is the only hope.

Heck, I am covering council too, which your local paper of record gave up as well.

For continuing to fight the good fight...from one writer to another

My small indie paper screwed me after I covered a big City Council budget fight with 20% layoffs of long term employees and retirees healthcare being cut. I got the scoop, and then they 'didn't have the money to pay me'...and these guys were supposedly LONG TIME friends and colleagues. Once the city got mad at my coverage and started funneling their message through the PIO and refusing to talk...they cut me loose. (without paying me for the last story, BTW) Turns out the city was a big advertizer, and that was the bottom line - not all indies are that good and noble either unfortunately. It's remarkable to see that shit happen in your own small town.

The liberal media is only as liberal as the conservative corporations that own them.

Ya, while there were some funny jokes at the WHCD, it was not something I would watch in its entirety...I feel that many of the folks in that room, media, dems and repukes were all sharing a very common theme. Making light while the rest of us starve and lose our civil liberties.

the 1%ers are not going to relinquish their power easily, and control of the media is their biggest ace in the hole. The only thing I listened to from last night was Pres. Obama's bit...and it have to say the last part when he was speaking about our press being FREE and asking difficult questions, i wanted to scream...

Marie Antoinette and her court went to the opera, performed plays, played cards, cavorted and dined on the finest food and champagne while the ordinary French people starved. They should have been paying attention to the peasants and what they were planning. Our Versailles aka as Washington, D. C. needs to learn that history lesson too.

so, time to start labeling and shunning the 1% media. reduce their social validity, relegate them to USSR Pravda status. assume everything they say is a lie for and by the 1%. rely on external media sources ('net, int'l media, 1st person video accounts, etc.) before taking anything the 1% media says at face value.

with access democratized to the people nowadays, the only thing 1% media has left is credibility -- therefore it's time to kill its credibility. 1% media from now on must be treated to its own poison: doubt, ignore, shun.

And only barely related to the OP. You've used this as an opportunity to pontificate because the thread started about women. But, your post doesn 't seem to be about women. It seems to be about you.
