Mitt: my family was "helped by the government to get on their feet"

I will be very interested to hear what form this "help" took, if any reporter bothers to ask him.

“My dad’s dad was not a polygamist. My dad grew up in a family with a mom and a dad and a few brothers and one sister,” he said. “They lived in Mexico and lived a very nice life there from what I understand and then when he was , I think five or six years old there was a revolution in Mexico. They escaped. I believe they went to El Paso first, and were helped by the government to get on their feet and then his dad went around the country, Los Angeles, I think Idaho, Utah, went broke more than once. My dad had a very tough upbringing.”

It's bad enough that he was part of the problem, but to try and be part of the pain is just too much.

Notice he didn't say anything about his father not being a polygamist. But I guess if that was the case, we'd know about it by now.

He turns an ordinary statement into something with red flags all the time. It's incredible. He's out of touch in more ways than one. He can't hear himself talk and can't stop himself from self destruction...

Some new adjectives will need to be invented when Romney tries to debate Obama.

and said "Hey, Mitt..."

BHO keeps it cool and even. Mitt's gonna get flustered and dribble from the mouth again. He's not up against the clowns he was "debating" during the primary.

Ready for prime time, Mitt?

Somewhere between the brain and the mouth, most of us tend take a quick detour through our self-editing functions. Willard seems to successfully bypass that detour with alarming regularity.

12. Self destructing tendency? I'm beginning to wonder.

As you said, it's "alarming."

But I'm all for him sailing along on "self-destruct" mode. That makes Obama's work easier, doesn't it?

Is it a self-destructive flaw? I think, in politics and diplomacy, it is. There are always things better left unsaid, subjects not to be broached, and little seeds not to plant in people's minds.

Poor Willard, he doesn't get it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth. (Apologies to Ann Richards.)

Just like we are not responcible for the sins of our fathers,we are also not to take credit for their trials and tribulations.

mittens once again demonstrates the worst kind of pandering. trying to equate himself to poverty via proxy.

until you have lived poverty, you have no idea what it's like.

mitten's inability for empathy only highlights the rapidly revealing fact that he may actually be a sociopath.

I was thinking about the government help part. Which is it, right-wingers, is government help good or bad?

Reminds me of Craig T. Nelson on Fox News, "I was on food stamps and no one ever helped me!"

I still want to know the specifics of the government help the Romneys received.
