The Rude Pundit - The Hillary Industrial Complex Gets Back to Work

Oh, listen, dear, sweet, young, innocent readers, there was a time in a century past when an entire machine was constructed for the sole purpose of degrading and destroying President Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton. It was a monstrous creation, all squeaky pistons and black smoke-belching ducts, leaving toxic waste wherever it was put to use. The machine was magical in that, all of a sudden, media stars were created by merely giving up their human bodies and becoming cogs in it. The surge of power and popularity in people like Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly were caused by the machine pumping its foul product through a pipe that went directly up the assholes of conservative commentators and spewed garbage right out of their mouths. Did you know that the only reason that Ann Coulter exists is because of the machine? That Fox "news" came to prominence because it was the machine's vilest output? And the people, oh, the people, dear children, how they gobbled up the trash left for them by the machine, not enough to bring down President Clinton, but enough to tarnish them in the eyes of a huge number of your parents and uncles and aunts so that the mere mention of a Clinton, now mostly Hillary, would remind them of the taste of the machine's effluvia and debris and cause them to reflexively roll their eyes in hateful pleasure.

This Hillary Clinton email story is not a story. Like every other supposed scandal involving the Clintons, it exists solely in the fevered minds of those who cannot stand them who desperately try to get us to think it's more than it is. Yet here we are, like it's the late 1990s all over again, except with better graphics.

The front of the Fox "news" website:

The front of Breitbart, which didn't exist back then, but is a stand-in for other that did:

And, of course, this wouldn't be complete without Drudge, which does look exactly the same:

Turn on conservative talk radio and it's Hillary for a good chunk of the time. The machine is gearing up for the big presidential run, so hungry, ready to be fed, ready to feed again. The obsession, the monomania, the desire not just to defeat but to tear apart, you think that's so new with Barack Obama?

Older rudesters, is your right eye twitching a little, like you're having an acid flashback to a bad trip you thought you had repressed enough so that you didn't see the gorgons and minotaurs roaring at you anymore?

The Rude Pundit is no huge Hillary fan for reasons he'll bother to discuss when she announces she's running for president. But he'd still vote for her against that jagoff Bush, that turd licker Rand Paul, that narrow-eyed geek Walker, that ball of spite Christie. You know, though, what we're gonna have to go through when she's the nominee. You know that the machine will be moving madly, chaotically, smashing anything to wreck her. You know that it's fed on cash and rumor and lies and it cannot ever be sated unless it gets to devour her whole.

We're just getting a preview of what's to come.

Why don't we just look at some of the fine things Bill and Hillary did in the 90's:

NAFTA!
Ended welfare!
Fought unions
Severe sanctions on Iraq killing at least 500,000 Iraqi children
Ended Glass-Steagall Act leading to wild speculation by largest banks, world economic meltdown of 2008, and loss of middle-class
Full support of WTO
Supported mega-consolidation of media, leading to corporate control of news
Gave us the Dot.com bomb and Y2K crash (irrational exuberance)
Green cards visas for IT foreigners decimated Americans trying to work in IT industry
Gave a get out of jail card to Bill Gates and his predatory, monopolistic Microsoft
Delayed clean air act, allowing power plants to delay scrubbing their stacks
Refused to force labeling of GMO and approved GMO crops
Pulled US and UN inspectors out of Iraq who were not finding any signs of supposed WMDs, thus allowing the myth that they had WMD programs to continue.

As for Hillary;

She was most notable Democrat to jump on the Bush/Cheney Iraq war wagon (that had nothing to do with 911), without taking the time to read the NIE.
She voted to give retro-active immunity to the telecoms for wire-tapping all Americans.
As Sec of State she allowed TransCanada to write the environmental impact study on XL Keystone Pipeline.

To keep looking for qualified persons to be our next POTUS. Don't just give up and go with hill/bill
Not that hill can't be that person, but never heard her say anything negative about the items on that list.

We can see that it is so much contrived RW bullshit.

What bothers me about the Clintons is the truth about them. What bothers me is their loyalty to Wall Street, the private equity that Bill defended, NAFTA, the Telecommunications Act and Gramm-Leach-Bliley. Hillary's support for the Iraq War.

And then there is this:

We are constantly being triangulated to move the neo con agenda forward...and that is what we have to deal with.

but you notice he actually increased taxes on the wealthy and they were paying much more then that they are now under Obama. Because of his taxes increases on the rich, the economy did great. He also didn't put jerks whose companies were at the forefront of moving American jobs overseas as his jobs czar. Yes, NAFTA and the repeal of Glass Steagall (sp?) were awful and because of that I'm leary of Hillary and want a different candidate. However, if she is our nominee, I'd vote for her, holding my nose.

and the media pretty much does their bidding...

But you're 100% right and your video is the perfect illustration. Lying underneath the traditional battle between the two parties is the fact that both campaigns are funded by the same corporations and too big to fail banks! And in the end whoever is elected will return the favor in spades!

As a life long Democrat watching the probable party candidate for president being trashed by a bunch of corrupt bastards gets my competitive juices boiling too. And I have the same feelings, I'd rather even a third way Wall Street, military contractor, anti-labor trade agreement supporting Democrat win an election rather than a Republican. I'm getting old and that wiring ain't going to change. But let's suspend the rush of competitive juices long enough to take in the whole picture. The richest folks in the world don't invest billions of dollars without receiving a return on their investment. And that should be a concern!
