Yes. There IS a growing drumbeat about limbaugh's professional demise.

There have been conflicting reports this week that rush limbaugh is being dropped from the big important Chicago AM talker WLS. But the very fact that there are reports of any sort that are now making the rounds means there's clearly something to it. It wouldn't suddenly become the industry talk-of-the-town, as it were, unless something was up.

Indeed, here's another one, which I just found in the excellent LARadio.com! (Wonderful site for SoCal people who follow the local radio scene here. Highly recommended!) And then I went to the link, myself. Its top story:

Rush Limbaugh’s Fall Into Oblivion
http://darrylparks.com/author/darrylparksmedia/

The second story on the home page, after the one above, is this - with its hilarious title:
Talk Radio – Becoming the Weekend Laxative for Octogenarians

!!!!!

Enjoy!

but if he tries to go any farther, the next one will be far less lucrative as he's relegated to small market stations, mostly in the south and midwest.

Funny about the laxative for octogenarians, my mother always called an overreaction to any of life's difficulties "having a shit hemorrhage." Just thought I'd throw that in.

LOL, mom!

Hoped Obama would "fail" before he even took office. Mocked and tried to humiliate an intelligent and beatiful young woman with legitimate concerns, Sandra Fluke, by calling her a slut.

He really needs to go in the "bad old times" garbage pile - along with "Father Knows Best", Reaganomics and the GOP!

he is a disgusting little, little man that filled the airways with the most disgusting bullc**p ever. A dirty ugly man. I for one will be so sad that he is leaving his filth behind him. He was the Patriotic of the GOP, he was their God. Do I need this

As for Talk Radio – Becoming the Weekend Laxative for Octogenarians

Or their other junkyard dogs. Those dogs (and please forgive my real canine friends for the inappropriate association), were only there to rouse the lower IQ riffraff and stop them from questioning why their place in life was so sh1tty.

The real republicans are pretty swank, pretty well educated, pretty rich and are pretty smart about saying whatever they need to get their way. Some of them can actually be pretty fun to be with - just don't turn your back.

That a person so prejudiced and filled with anti-minority, anti-gay and anti-woman venom had such a following is scary.

Good riddance, Bigot!!!

The future belongs to those of us who are vehemently anti-war, pro-gay, pro-choice, pro-woman, pro-working class and Progressive in our politics and our lives.

The sooner he is not spewing his racist and sexist lies and hate over the airwaves, the better.

I would LOVE to see him have to debate Rachel Maddow, or even Stephanie Miller. That would be his swan song.

..and they would do it with good humor, beauty, intelligence and love - really exposing him for the hate-filled cretin he is.

Yes, never will it happen. He knows what the outcome would be.

Peace, she!

He is so rich anyway, that it would not make any difference to him.

Not only that, he could start his own network.

But then again, his audience IS waning, and aging. Just as is.

Now look at glenn beck. I'd dare say there are a few people out there who'd say - "who?" He's out of the mainstream now. He doesn't have that more "mainstream" platform like Pox Noise for his nonstop paranoia-on-parade-athon on Pox Noise anymore. He's off in subscriber-supported internet platforms. Which may lend a sense of near-obscurity to him by now. When's the last time you heard his name mentioned as frequently as it used to be? You'd hear his name listed in the frequent and much-used unholy trinity of limbaugh-hannity-beck. Now it's usually limbaugh-hannity-levin or limbaugh-hannity-savage or some such. One of the legs in the three-legged stool is no longer a factor. He's just not a mainstream name anymore. And if columnists and media people aren't paying much attention to him anymore (I haven't seen his name come up in a long time, for any reason) that means his name isn't spoken or written as much, and pretty soon he becomes kind of a non-entity. Nobody in the mainstream seems interested in him anymore. He really doesn't count anymore. I would guess that fewer people know where they can even find his show these days. That is, IF they even remember him, what with all the other clutter and clonemanship and other distractions still raging away out there, especially in the short-attention-span consumer world. He seems all but forgotten.

And if ol' Gas Giant Number One decides that's where his future lies, then that will be his fate, too. There just won't be enough of an audience base to make him a contender anymore. He'll be a used-to-be. The up-n-coming and newly dominant generations don't agree with him and aren't interested in what he's selling. His most loyal audience is aging and dying out. He's just lucky in that he CAN have a future like glenn beck has - as a puny shade of his former self, because he'll probably be self-funding most of it.

I suppose he could call it "Atlas Shrunk."
