Lindsey Graham Says He Has Never Sent An EmailWhat are you trying to hide, Lindsey?
"I don't email," Sen. Lindsey Graham (S.C.) said. "You can have every email I've ever sent. I've never sent one."
Great Choice For President, Huh?

(46,416 posts)as an Air Force officer, and emails were a chunk of his workday from the 90's on. That's how the military does business. There's no way Lindsay could have avoided using email--officers and enlisted alike can't escape it.

(450 posts)It is to easy to be dragged into something that is illegal even though you did nothing illegal. Use of dictation to an employee who then types up a letter in word then emails that pre-approved letter to the recipient or better yet sends it through the US mail is the best protection. The only type of emailing I do is for official confirmation of log on accounts and for receiving billing notices. But I don't write any thing personal in emails to send it to others. For the holidays I snail mail a card and send short letters to friends and families. I don't do any personal texting either. All my calls are screened by voice mail unless it is from someone I want to talk to on my very small contact list. YMMV. IMHO.

(49,212 posts)(who no longer holds office but still has a ton of pull) uses never uses email because "the e stands for evidence." He's older than Lindsay and undoubtedly set in his ways, but if you've got a whiff of crookedness about you writing things down is a bad habit best avoided.
And they're both of an era where correspondence is what the secretary is for.
I'm sure Graham's motives are similar.

(32,006 posts)The former president, who does regularly use Twitter TWTR -3.68%, has sent a grand total of two emails during his entire life, both as president, says Matt McKenna, his spokesman. After leaving office, Mr. Clinton established his own domain that staff use@presidentclinton.com. But Mr. Clinton still doesnt use email himself, Mr. McKenna said.
As president, Mr. Clintons first email was a message to John Glenn, the former senator and astronaut who in 1998 was making a return trip to space. Mr. Glenn wrote Mr. Clinton, and the president replied. Hillary and I had a great time at the launch, Mr. Clinton wrote in his note. We are very proud of you and the entire crew, and a little jealous.
Later, the laptop he used was sold for some $60,000.
His other email was to U.S. troops serving in the Adriatic.

These people are so deeply ensconced in their little privilege bubbles, it's like they're living in a different decade. I know plenty of people Graham's age who have become perfectly comfortable using email, because they had to. They actually do things.
