Prior Foster Parents Say Arkansas Rep Harris Lying

The previous foster parents of two girls who were adopted by an Arkansas GOP lawmaker and his wife, only to “rehome” them to a household where one of the girls, age 6, was raped, is disputing his statements blaming social service workers, reports Arkansas Times.

Craig and Cheryl Hart, who provided foster care for the girls prior to their adoption by Rep. Justin Harris and his wife Marsha, say they, along with local DHS staff, objected to the Harrises adopting the girls only to have their concerns overridden by the head of the Division of Children and Family Services, Cecile Blucker.

While Harris has maintained that he and his wife received no help with the girls after realizing their issues, Cheryl Hart said their offer of help was rebuffed.

“We offered to provide respite care for them, to give them relief, to help out any way that we could because we’d been living with them for a year and a half. They never once called us.”

Harris appears to have had another option besides rehoming to a new family, he could have contacted the prior foster parents and this would have helped keep continuity of caregivers for the girls as is asserted important for those with reactive attachment disorder.

1. This is just despicable

A friend of mine adopted two children from a foreign country. A girl was about 6 and a boy who was about 1 1/2 at the time they were adopted. The girl ended up having detachment syndrome, or whatever the proper term us. My friend and her then husband went through hell and back. They ended up having to put the girl in a group home that could help in a way they couldn't. But they didn't give her up. She was a danger to everyone in the house, especially her little brother. It wasn't until she was a teenager they were left with no choice.

They see her all the time. She comes home for breaks and holidays. She has done much better in this program. And she is their daughter and she is well aware of that fact and that it will never change.

A million bucks in government money went to his preschool over 10 years, that's $100,000 a year. For a preschool. Some serious greasing was going on and inquiring minds want to know why, by whom, and where it went.

because of the way it flouts the law about public funding and religion. I want to see him hounded by reporters asking all the uncomfortable questions he was too arrogant to see coming. I want to see him spending all his ill gotten money on legal defense. I want to see the voters catch a clue and throw him out.

I want him poor, living the life I've had to live so often thanks to Republican frauds just like him. Trust me, that is far worse than prison.

Why are they not be charged with something?? How do you give away your legal child?

What kind of people are they? If your child has problems you get professional help you do not give them away.
