This man, Agent Bolden was witness to the cavalier attitude that the SS had towards the safety of JFK prior to his assasination. I am afraid that this attitude is also present in the business of keeping President Obama alive.

(5,018 posts)without specific proof because I believe, and I believe it is self evident, that racism is everywhere in our institutions.
Everywhere outside of them too, but this is about our institutions.
But you are right, I dont want to allege that you are stating that, only I am.

So, I'll say it again...
Hell yes, racism exists within the SS as it does across all positions, jobs, personal situations in this country. I believe the election of Obama made it far easier to be "out loud" racist in some ways.
That said, I also believe that the SS cares very much about protecting the President for those very same reasons. I don't believe anyone on the SS detail for the sitting President would want his/her name associated forever in history with a (I can't even stand to think about it) horrific event. Because that would be the most epic failure while on the job.
If Obama did not have complete and utter trust in the people whose sole job it is to protect him, I doubt he would appear on Kimmel. It's also sort of a slam on the intelligence of the President to assume he's not smart enough to figure out if those hired to protect him actually care.
Thank you for your consideration of these points.

(52,791 posts)Was their attitude as cavalier for Bush and Nixon as it seems to have been for JFK, as well as Obama? Is it more than just the standard background of pervasive racism?
