Cops: Bodies of 2 kids in freezer for more than year

Detroit — Detroit police have confirmed that the bodies of two children found in a freezer had been there for more than a year while their mother lived in the apartment with her other children.

"It appeared to be a male who…is approximately 11 years old and a female (who is approximately) 14 years old inside of a plastic bag," Chief James Craig said. "They appeared to be frozen."

The children were found around 11:30 a.m. inside a townhouse at the Martin Luther King homes on the 800 block of St. Aubin, police said.

Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt said the bodies appear to have been in the freezer "for over a year."

Obviously she's got some serious problems, but who the f**k are these guys producing children by multiple women and where are they in their kids' lives? Why does it always seem to fall on these women to have to get public assistance and work umpteen jobs, alone, and why can't these guys use birth control if they're not going to make a commitment to share in the childcare?

More news locally today about another absentee father (batterer) killing his toddler--not around enough but enough to kill him to make a point with the mother. I was just seriously already pissed when I came upon this story.

Keep it in your pants or be willing and able to be a serious Dad. I'm so friggin sick of these bastards.

I am so weary of the projection and nastiness of certain DU members.

I didn't invent the statistics on unsupported single parents and I'm not "broken inside" for raising the issue. To make a blanket statement like that directly to another member on this site says more about your capacity for projection and judgmentalism than any comment I have made.

13. How tragic.

In 2012 an 8 year old was stabbed to death by their mother in the same complex.

The mother in question here was lining up to stay at a friends sisters house as they were getting ready to evict. It sounds as if she was very aware the bodies would be found yet she was still planning her future.
