I don't know if the economic system can be saved, too many very poor people who can't even entertain the notion of buying a pizza at a restaurant, but here's 100K for practicing religious hatred by pizza restaurateurs who seem to already have their survival needs covered.

The cake shop that refused to make a wedding cake for the gay couple received a substantial (though short lived) influx of money from various right wing nut jobs who wanted to "throw our support" behind "a principled Christian business owner."

Could it be, that Memories was on its last legs, ready to shutter its doors before Indiana passed this hateful legislation? And they saw an opportunity to "seize the day" and take a some 3,300 rubes for a righteous ride?

"Yeah, we'll throw our support behind this idiotic law and tell everyone there's no way in hell we're gonna cater any gay wedding (not that anyone ever asked us to), but we'll never give in on our 'principles.' What an uproar it'll cause -- gays who'd never think of serving pizza at a wedding will condemn us, there'll be all sorts of invectives thrown our way, and best of all, a couple thousand useful-idiots on the right will fill our pockets with easy money! We weather the storm for a few days, declare we can't go on anymore, what with the pressures, and we walk away with what, a couple of thousand, maybe tens of thousands, hell, maybe $100 thousand free and clear."

Useful idiots indeed.

The owners were dumb to answer. I guess none of your business is out of style or no comment. Of course in the end the Reporter made these owners a lot of money as it is over 200,000 dollars now.

It's easier for us to tank a business where it costs us nearly nothing than for teabaggers to scrape together another $200k for everytime one of you folks does something like that.

Think of it like Gosselin family vs. the Octomom. Sure the Gosselins got lucky and scored big when Kat Gosselin gave birth to 6 babies at a time and her family scored a TV deal with TLC worth millions. But poor Octomom thought she'd knowingly knocked herself up with 8 kids at once expecting a reaping of financial rewards for such a feat. Instead she ended up on Welfare and doing porn. As for the Gosselins, they got stupid with all that money and spent it all. Let's hope the Pizza folks do something smart with their money. In this country $200k can go pretty quickly especially if you do not have any other source of income.

Why would a reporter walk into a pizza parlor in the middle of nowhere Indiana on the off chance that these particular owners would give the reporter a story thats being talked about worldwide now.

You think the reporter was just going business to business in Walkertown, Indiana. I live in Indiana, have you seen the population of the town, its not a big city...

and why would a reporter ask if they would cater pizza at any wedding, let alone a gay wedding? Who the hell serves pizza at a wedding, nobody.

The reporter went into business after business asking them about serving at gay weddings. Most of them did not even know what she was talking about. She finally (20 miles from where she started) came into the pizza place and asked her question. The reporter was trying to generate a story and she was successful. Who the hell has pizza at their wedding???

Former 9thward has said absolutely nothing to indicate that he is "on these people side or something." He was politely engaging in a conversation, and you decided to insult him. What did he say that was so offensive or indicated in any way that he was "on these people side or something"?

won't be any gofundme money coming in from out of state and these businesses will have to deal with the fact that they will have less customers in their state due to this law and the state will have to deal with the fact that some corporations will not want to have business locations in a state that may limit their customer base.

They have money to throw away, they're motivated and easily manipulated and will turn on a dime when their trusted icons on the right inflame their passions. They're also bitter and angry, confused and scared of everything, and they hate everything we on the left stand for, and in their short term outrages they are more likely to launch WWIII than think about the consequences of their fantasy triumphs.

We have nothing even remotely similar. When I mull the possible outcomes, I am not encouraged.
