KFC's parent company has unleashed a Chick-fil-A killer

Taco Bell (and KFC) parent company Yum! Brands is expanding its wildly popular chicken sandwich concept, called Super Chix.

Yum! said it's building a second location in Dallas, according to industry blog Nation's Restaurant News. The first location opened last year in Arlington, Texas.

The chain, which has been called a Chick-fil-A knock-off, sells fried chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, frozen custard, and french fries.
<snip>

Customers rave about the food on Yelp, where it has a rating of four out of five stars from 96 reviews.

"'The last original chicken sandwich' is their slogan. I can clearly see why after I finished lunch there this afternoon," wrote one reviewer. "The quality is phenomenal and at a more than decent price!"

The chicken almost looks burnt. I passed on going with the office crew to Five Guys today, all that fried crap makes me lethargic the rest of the day.

I hope KFC's sandwich hurts ChristChicken.

it is snobbish to assume others are not aware it's junk just because they don't mind fast food occasionally

every time there's a fast food thread the food purists pop in to let us know they'd NEVER eat such crap - it's fucking annoying

Frozen custard , gelato, ice cream are all a little different which give them the different names.

It's sort of like "Shrimp Scampi."

Gelato is just the Italian word for "ice cream," just like "scampi" is the Italian word for "shrimp."

What will food marketers in the States come up with next, "milk latte" and "acqua water?"

It's not just the Italian word for "ice cream". It has more fat and less air that what we call ice cream. You could argue that frozen custard and gelato are the same, but ice cream covers things that are not at all like gelato. Such as products that are 50% air.

And if there was a Culver's within walking distance to me house I would be 500 lbs.

The purist Wisconsin custard connesuier will tell you Culver's is shit compared to some of the small local stands, but they rank up there with the best, IMHO. And I credit them for bringing custard to the masses. Their growth had been good to see.

Leon's is the stand alleged to have been the inspiration for Al's in Happy Days, they're cream of the crop. Kopp's has three locations and is up there. Some swear by Gilles' but I prefer Culver's to them.

Mmmmmm, custard.

They don't do poppyseed buns though.

Yum Brands has Pepsi though, so Hate-Fellate has the advantage over them in the south because they have Coke products.

There's Zaxby's too which is another chicken chain. They have ads with the Duck Dynasty douchebags.
