Do you suppose they were manipulating the results of elections even then?
I suppose the MIC couldn't stand losing their wonderful war.

(12,867 posts)I just watched an old film last night, one I hadn't seen in decades: Network with Faye Dunaway, William Holden, and Peter Finch. If you haven't seen it, or don't remember it well, I regard this film as an absolute must-see because it has more relevant truth packed into it than any other work of fiction I can think of. The scene where the corporate head of the TV network (played by Ned Beatty) lays down the law of the world to the mad prophet of the airwaves (Peter Finch) is not to be missed:

(41,132 posts)been great, wonder if I'll see another liberal Dem. Potus, doubtful. Once on PA Ave near the National Archives and the Dept. of Justice I walked right past McG. on the sidewalk, couldn't miss him, distinctive, tall.
