Bwaaahaaaaa! “It means I don't ever have to work again if I don't want to.”

Don McLean has finally revealed the meaning behind his 1971 hit American Pie, one of the most enigmatic songs in pop history.

Mr McLean, 69, has always avoided answering questions about its meaning, other than to joke: “It means I don't ever have to work again if I don't want to.”

Original manuscript of iconic song expected to fetch up to $1.5m at auction in New York and includes lost ending, describing how “the music was reborn”

American Pie seems more interesting, IMHO.

Although, let's face it, The Wasteland does have its merits.

It's just that it's been engraved in granite.

Yup.

She was awful. I knew she was a fraud when she said she hated "Glen Garry Glenross" because it was "all talk". Got chucked years later for using anti-semetic language towards a student.

Only excuse? I speak and write French part of the time, and often confuse 'pour' (for) in French and to pour in English.

The other option just wasn't in my line of sight!

Thanks!
