Greenpeace activists scale Seattle-bound drilling rig

SEATTLE -- Six Greenpeace activists have scaled the side of a Shell drilling rig bound for Seattle, and they say they aren't leaving until their concerns are addressed.

Video shows the protestors navigating inflatable boats alongside the vessel as it makes its way from Hawaii to Seattle. Using ropes, they climb the structure and set up camp on the 400 foot drill rig.

...

Owned by Transocean Ltd., the rig is bound for the Port of Seattle and Terminal Five where it will sit before heading to Alaska to drill for Royal Dutch Shell Oil PLC.

The decision by the Port of Seattle to lease space for the vessels to dock for two years has already sparked heated public hearings and protests.
